I need to configure an Emulex LP11000 and some Tape LTOs on a ESX Server 3.0.x to let the virtual machine make backup on SAN.
Can you give me the right procedure to install HBA, tape drive, etc?

Fibre Channell tape drives (or library) are not supported on ESX 3.
You can only connect a scsi tape drive (or library) to the host and let a vm see that device.
