ESX 3.0 and NFSD

Hi

I have 2 3.0 machine one is supposed to be a cold spare (for lack of a better word). What I need to know is does it make sense

or is it even possible to NFS mount the cold spares vmfs and vcbmounter the vm's over? Has anyone doen this if so I would appreciate pointers on doing this.

When you say you want to vcbmounter the VM's over. What are you doing this for? Since it is a cold spare why not just point the cold ESX box at the correct storage in the event of a failure. Or is the VCBmounter protecting the NFS storage from failure.

both machines are stand alone they each have there own vmfs, they arent connected to a SAN. I am just wondering what firewall config etc needs to get done etc.
