ESX 3.0.1 installed but not loading via http://ip_address or servername

I've installed ESX 3.0.1 from a CD and this installed successfully which requests that the server needs to be restarted after installing.

1. From initial setup installation, when i choose ENTER to start installation in Graphical mode, it doesnt instead starts in text mode.

2. After finishing installing in text mode, restarts the server and open up IE, enter URL address and nothing comes up....Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage. Tried adding from VC, and no luck. Also tried the FQDN of the server as well.

3. Installed 2.5.1 and selected graphical mode, which boots into graphical mode to install, now from my initial installation which i have 768MB memory installed an i normally choose the recommended Reserved Memory (766.2 M Available) 192M (up to 8 virtual machines) and continue with the other options and let it choose the partition automatically and installation is successful....restart and try logging on to URL and takes ages to load and mostly coming up with

Unexpected response from vmware-authd: 511 Error connecting to /usr/sbin/vmware-serverd process

and I've done Kill the process using kill -9 nnn, where nnn is the PID,

Restart the http daemon. Run /etc/init.d/httpd.vmware restart and still doesnt load up the URL/Ip address. But if i choose Linux-up from bootup, i can load on vis the URL/Ip address and when it gets to the Startup Profile configuration, it will notify that the server will reboot which it does and i have to choose the Linux-up option again so i can log on via Internet Explorer and this goes round in loops each time i get to the Startup Profile page.

So now I've had to re-install 2.5.1 again and i choose a different Reserved memory setting to 512...up to 32 virtual machines and was able to log on successfully without selecting Linux-up from the boot menu.....is there something i'm doing wrong?

I'm planning on getting more 2GB memory to make it atleast 2.5GB in total. Should i be selecting a higher reserve memory from when installing as this looks to have done the trick? Meanwhile this is only on my own test-environemt, installation is on a SATA drive and intend getting another SATA drive with the confirmed RAID controllers (Adaptec/LSI Logic) so i can create a RAID 1 and install properly.

Thanks
