Hello,

You have some items you can check as a course or action.

1. Check DNS resolution of your License / VC server from your ESX server.....Can it resolve the computer name?

2. Check general network connectivity, are the ESX hosts talking to the VC server correctly?

2. Restart your license server.

3. Check your license file and make sure it is loaded correctly (But from the look of the error, I do not think it is getting this far...)

If this doesn't help....could you provide more details on setup...

Version of VC, Version of ESX, Is VC virtualized? Is it a clean install or upgrade?

best regards

Bernie

Hello vcms.

I believe you can use the following from the ESX host to see if you can access the license server. (Thanks ThompsG)

ssh <Virtual Center server name> -p 27000

If it can get through then the console will not return with a prompt (CTRL+C to exit) otherwise you will get the following message:

ssh: connect to host <Virtual Center name> port 27000: Connection refused

If refused, check port 27000 or 27010 is open on your ESX firewall setting and on your VC server.

If you have confirmed the points above, it may be worth simply uninstalling the license server and re-installing.

Are these machines on the same subnet?

Bernie
