From the discussion forum, I find that the licence ESX_FULL_BACKUP is used for consolidated backup. Does it means that they are used for VCB Backup ?
We just find that some of the ESX_FULL_BACKUP Licences are used but we haven't implemented VCB. On the other hand, we are using vRanger Pro 3.2.8 for backup. Does vRanger Pro use ESX_FULL_BACKUP licence ?
Thanks
VCB = Consolidated Backup
VCB is included in license tiers VI Foundation and above.
Vizioncore's vRanger Pro will leverage VCB if you configure backups that way. Vizioncore has a downloadable VCB agent plugin for Ranger to do this.

Dear Jason,
Thank you for your prompt reply. Since the ESX 3.5 Hosts are upgraded from ESX 2.5, under configuration - license, we get the following items
ESX Server Standard
VC Agent for ESX Server
ESX_FULL_BACKUP
VMotion
VMWare HA
VMWare DRS
VC Mgt Server
From your reply, my understanding is that ESX_FULL_BACKUP is used for VCB. As we don't download VCB plug-in for vRanger Pro, I have to look into the reason why some of the ESX_FULL_BACKUP license is used.
Thanks again
