Distributed Journaling (VMFS)

I'm seeing more talk about Distributed Journaling for VMFS these days and wanted to see if someone could provide a good explaination of what this will actually do for an implementation....

Makes it more crash-proof, more recoverable after server failure. Google it.

Thanks for the reply, but I was hoping for a more technical explaination that the one found in the vmfs datasheet.

A journaling file system is a file system that logs changes to a journal (usually a circular log in a dedicated area) before committing them to the main file system. Such file systems are less likely to become corrupted in the event of power failure or system crash.
