This may be a stupid question, though does anyone know whether it is possible to directly connect to a VI3 Virtual Machine Console without Using the VI Client (Right click Virtual Machine > Open Console)? Say from a shortcut on the desktop etc?
Thanks

Hi,
Use mstsc /console
Thanks
Hi,
As ponpalani said mstsc /console is good idea, other than that you could use symantec pcanywhere, dameware .but you need to install them on vm first.

Thanks for the response, currently trying to avoid RDP and other clients if possible and seeing if it it can be done using the VM interfaces, I have heard that it may be possible to just grab a web link from web gui to the console of a specific VM though unable to get that working as yet. If i cant, looks like RDP / VNC etc may be my only option.

Hi,
Make sure you have 902 and 903 ports are open between VI web access client(internet browser) and ESX host.
