Daily backup to usb disk

Hi, we are currently running 3 esx 3.5 hosts attached to a DS4300 san (2Tb of storage so far)

I need to find a script to automate backups of all the vm on each host to an external hdd (currently testing lacie 1.5Tb BigDisk)

I tried EsXpress, but it can only copy to a networked storage (ftp, smb,...)

Each server have it's own hard drive connected directly to a usb2 port.

I need ideas, softwares, anything because for now, I'm clueless!!

Hello,

Since you have asked about other software - Veeam Backup allows you to use drives connected locally to an ESX server directly from UI, without having to write scripts etc. You can also use integrated FastSCP file management utility to copy your backup files stored from those local drives to any other server at significantly faster speed (search for FastSCP on this forum).

Hello,

esXpress can copy to any mounted directory not just over the network. You could write your own as well using vcbMounter. There is also VISBU from Xtravirt and vmbk.pl.
