Does anyone know exactly what each "star" mean on DRS migration tresholds levels?
The documentation that I have only says (EX):
"Level 1: most cnservative: applies only five star recommendations...."
I want to know what is that stars to set the best treshold level for my environment.
Thanks All
It's based on CPU & memory utilisation.
It will check this every 5 minutes (roughly).
Also, DRS will always work on CPU utilisation first, then look at RAM.

I'd just leave the default of 3 stars if I were you.
Moving machines around too much won't help with memory sharing.
When VM's sit on a server for a while, the transparrent page sharing kicks in which means you'll see better utilisation. If you move VM's around this won't work as well.
Ok.
But I want to know the concept of the stars...
I don't think you'll be able to work out exactly what values match a star unless someone can share the formulae that VMware use.
Ok, I think I´m making myself clear...
I just want to know what are the "basic rules" for it...
I know that one of these stars is affinitty...
So the bar moves from conservative to aggresive.
5 stars - Conservative - Basically only machines which violate affinity rules or need moving due to maintenance mode will get 5 stars.
4 stars - Only machines which gaurantee an improvement in performance
3 stars - At least a good improvement in performance will be seen
2 stars - moderate improvement
1 stars - slight improvement
OK. But this is too much general....
I want to know if this is based on CPU precessor use, or memory use... or something like this...

Have you looked at this?
