DL580 Compaq Proliant

I've got 2 DL580 4-700MHz P3 Xeons... I would like to run VI3 but don't see them on the supported list...

Will these even work?

To date, I've had a ton of issues with licensing.

anyone get this config to work???

They may work, but please don't put production on that, nothing worse than hearing VM support tell you there is nothing they can do for you because your piece of hardware isnt on the HCL....trust me!

For testing it may work, so much of the HP stuff is supported I'd be surprised if even that old server wouldnt work. You could certainly give it a whirl, if the install works you are probably good.

VI3 will not support onboard smart array raid controller, get one Compaq Smart Array 5300 series raid card installed on the sever and everything should be fine.

We went with Adaptec 29160s for our internal SCSI cards which seemed to work fine. The install went well but for some reason the licensing barfs... I've done tons of installs of VI3 and haven't had issues like this since 3.0.0...
