How do I create users with login privileges through the VIClient?
Do you have VirtualCenter or not?
If you do then you create users in Active Directory and assign them roles and permissions. If you do not then you create the users in the VI Client on the Users and Groups tab and do the same thing. The difference is these users are local linux accounts on the ESX server instead.

Thanks for the post. However I should have been more specific. When I create a user in ESX and try to login as that user through the VI Client, I get a "Permission to perform this operation was denied. I guess I want to know what group I should put users in that want to be able to perform this action. Also, it seems that the more simultaneous root-logins I use through VIC, the less the console works. I just get a blank screen.
After you create the user click on the Permissions tab and assign that user a Role (eg. Read-Only or Administrator). You can use one of the pre-built roles or create your own.
