I need to add a third server to my cluster, but do not want to redo the whole config again
Is there a simple way to copy the existing config & restore it?
KB Article 1000761 - ESX Server Configuration Backup and Restore procedure
considers restore of the failed server, would it be the same minus some steps?

Hello,
Generally people write a script to do the configuration for you. If the server you are restoring to is an identical server then you should have no real issues, but if its a new type of server install/configure is your best approach.
