Copied VMs will not power on

Hello,

I'm new to VMware. We are using The standard edition with no Virtual Center. I used Fastscp to copy the powered off VMs from our production server to our backup server in order to test our DR strategy. After changing the .vmx files to executable and adding them to inventory I get an error when I power them on:

Error trying to restore CPU state from file /vmfs/volumes/....../VMname/Vmname-snapshot6.vmsn

Is there something else that I must do before a copied VM can be powered on?

Fastscp is extremely easy to use but is there a better way to move VMs from one server to another (without VC or a San) I have put off the 3.5 upgrade until I can find a good way to back and Restore the VMs on our server.

Thanks

JT

Hi,

i think that you have an active snapshot on your suorce VM. Remove it and try again.
