Convert Physical RDM to Virtual RDM an Exchange disk

Hi all

I have to convert a shared disk (SAN LUN) used by Exchange 2007 SP1 from Physical RDM to Virtual RDM, I would like to have a confirmation fo this strategy:

  1. Power off VM Exchange Server

  2. Remove the disk in vRDM mode from the configuration of the VM (not from the disk, of course)

  3. Attach the disk in pRDM mode

  4. Power on the VM

Question:

is this stratey correct?

could I have some type of problem with disk resignature?

Thanks in advance

Angelo

Hello.

That's it - you might want to document the mapping file depending on how many of them you have. The procedure is also documented in kb 1006599.

Good Luck!
