Consolidation

Hi

Just updated to VC 2.5, and wanted to try out Consolidation.

Add'ed 5 servers, and all 5 have detected the hardware (cpu info and mem). but have for 24+ hours been "Preparing for analysis"

Any advice

Regards

Michael

I am missing the consolidation wizard as well. . .I did a "Repair" of my VC install - did not fix it. When I run the capacityplanner.exe installer, it runs pretty much silently and gives no options. It appears that the binaries are being installed here:

C:\Program Files\VMware\VMware Capacity Planner

But there is an empty folder here:

C:\Program Files\VMware\Infrastructure

Which is where all the binaries for my newly installed VC 2.5 Update 1 are. So, does VC and the VIC simply not know where to find the binaries??

Check your vpxd.cfg (default in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\VMware\VMware VirtualCenter\vpxd.cfg)

Make sure 'dontStartConsolidation' is set to false.

<vcp2v>

<dontStartConsolidation>false</dontStartConsolidation>

</vcp2v>

@adamchiri : it works, I got it my Consolidation panel back after modifying this parameter (vCenter must be restarted though).

Thanks a lot !
