Configuring USB drive for Virtual machines

Hi,

I was just wondering if someone could clarify\outline the USB drive setup in VM infrastructure for me?

I want to plug in an external USB hard drive caddy and I only need to see it within the virtualized windows 2003 server.

Any comments or suggestions would be most appreciated.

Cheers

VI3/ESX doesn't support USB. While the console OS may see it, you can't virtulize the USB disk to a VM.

Damn..

I was just going through some old posts and found this;

"You need to use a device server to route the USB Device over ip to the VM. We've been using this device

http://www.silexeurope.com/euro/products/network/usb/sx2000u2.html

for the last few months with no problems at all."

USB hub might be the answer??
