Changing the boot order of a guest - from within a Solaris guest

Hello,

Is there a way in which I can manipulate the the BIOS and therefore tell the guest to PXE boot at the next boot from within a Solaris guest. The reason for this is that I would like to re-install my guest each night with a latest Solaris build in an automated fasion. How I do it for no virtualized host is issue commands from the OS itself so that the next boot boots from the network and then after staging set the boot order back to disk. Is such a thing possible from within a VMware guest?

Regards

Steve

Don't think you can modify the BIOS for any machine from within an OS, this is always a hardware level issue.

So you can modify the VM and edit the settings and there is an options -> boot options -> force entry to BIOS upon next startup. Then once inside the BIOS, you can change the boot order from there. From then on for that VM you will get the same boot order.
