Change Write Cache ESX 3.5 on HP

I've got an HP ML370 G5 running ESX 3.5, that I installed an HP Insight Manager agent on. I'm trying to change the write cache on the array controller, but I can't find this option anywhere. Has anyone done this before?

Thanks,

Scott

I know that when you set the array the ACU gives you that option.

I've never tried it with Insight Manager directly though...

Quetion: Is it good to have these option disabled o enabled?

Thanks for the response.

Has anyone been able to do this with Insight Manager?

Thanks,

Can't say I have ever done it - nor seen the option to in Insight Mangler (without the ACU installed).

Can you not install the Redhat version of the Array Conf Utility and do it that way?

I usually set the read cache high and the write cache lower (would rather writes go to disk as fast as possible)

Also, did you try by booting with SmartStart?

The ACU GUI is available there and perhaps you can modify the disk arrangement without having to set it all up from square one.

I tried to install the Linux ACU, but I get errors when I do. Missing lib+++6.0..... Do you know which file it is? I might be installing the wrong one.

I'm trying to avoid booting the server, so if I can do it from Insight Manager that would be ideal.

Thanks,

Scott
