Can you virtualise Lotus Domino 6.x and 7.x

Hello,

I'm new to VMware and was looking to create VMs for a Lotus Domino 6.5.6 server and a 7.0.2 server with around 500 users.

Is this possible?

has anyone done it?

are there any gotchas?

is performance acceptable?

Thanks,

Paul

Yes you can, see these posts. 500 users should work well on Domino, once you start getting into the 1,500-2,000 range I would use a physical server instead.

i've been running domino 6.5 for the last 2 years starting on 2.5.1 and now running on 3.0.1 one thing i have noticed!

don't over allocate the memory. I upped the memory to 4GB and it ran like a dog.............. my domino servers have 500 or so users and 2GB of ram is more than enough for my usage

hope this helps
