Can't connect to NFS Server

Hello,

I have a problem with my ESX 3.5 test server. I am running the ESX server on a white box. I am trying to add storage by a NFS hack. I used this (http://www.vmug.nl/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=getit&lid=29) tutorial. I completed all the steps without any errors.

Now, when I try to add storage by the VMware Infrastructure Client I get the following error: NFS Error: Unable to mount filesystem: Unable to connect to NFS server.

I can ping the VMkernel, firewall ports are open, a rpcinfo -p shows the processes.

Can somebody tell me what is wrong? The same tutorial with a ESX3 server is working fine, but slow performance (hardware issues).

Thank you,

Problem solved. In ESX 3.0.2 you have to add you NFS storage by the IP address that you assigned to the VMkernel. In ESX 3.5 you have to add the NFS storage by the IP address from ESX itself. Strange, but fixed.

In the GUI, you connect to the NFS server by using the FQDNor IP of the NFS server. Is that what you mean?
