Can't connect to ESX server after changing IP address

Hi experts,

I need advise for the following problems:

I already change the ESX server IP address, it succesfull, but after i restart the service, i cant ping to the ESX server with the new ip. what should i do?

did u changed the corresponding entry in etc/hosts to reflect the new ip and also if dns server is configured , update the new IP in the DNS

Is the new IP address on the same subnet/vlan? If not did you update the default gateway? Also if switching subnet's did you update the physical switch configurations and the vlan association if necessary? Can you provide more details about the change you made?

Its on the same subnet, the gateway parameter is same with other host, how to change the default gateway?

I only change the esx server IP.

to change the gateway, you need to edit the file /etc/sysconfig/network

you can use vi or nano to do so
