Can PING my default gateway but CANT ping my DNS server even by IP address? Its on the same subnet!

Hi All, I installed esx on a machine on but it cant ping my dns server...even by IP address. All other servers can ping it and it is on the same subnet...It can ping all other servers but that one! The only thing I can think is that it is listed as a dns server (the one I cant ping) in resolv.conf...

Strange - but in VC Colsole it says in switch adapters that its range is 192.168.1.1-192.168.1.1 .. seems a little off like it shoulw be to 1.255? right? I dunnop how to change the range tho.

Check your subnet mask

Apparently changing ones IP addresses and subnsets is a NONO wit Vmware. All settings are back to original and everything is giving me serious issues. I am resorting to BLOWING away and rebuilding EVERYTHING...argggg.
