Best Solutions for Backup/Restore over wan

Hi all,

i'm trying to find out the best solutions to ensure integrity of data and "a not so bad" RPO/RTO (let's say < 24h.)

My experience is with two products:

- Vreplicator by vizioncore, i don't like it because leaves the Vms everytime with an active snapshot and because when has to restart the job it use a lot of time to make a new replica of Vms with hunderd og Gb assigned, because has to rescan all the disks.

- Double take Livewire, this is a good solution of backup/restore, it use an agnet inside the virtual machine, replicating via kernel every bit changed. But for Double Take, like replicator, when the flow between the two sites is interrupted it needs a lot of time two restore the replica, because it compare all the differences between the two sites......

What i'm searching for is a product like double tike livewire (no use of snapshot) but with the capacity two restore quickly the data replica between the two side, for example using a database and leveraging on it to understand what is needed two replicate, avoiding a full rescan between the two sites.

Many thanks

Any suggestions?

Many Thanks

3.5 has limitations - vSphere will give you more options as it has a vStorage API which journals changes and offsets the need for replication products to scan changes themselves - both Veeam and Vizioncore's next releases will support this ...

Fix the problem, not the blame.

Take a look at Veeam Backup, and escpecially coming Backup 4.5.

Veeam Backup includes Replication.
