Bad performance using VMware Infrastracture Client

Hello there,

my problem is that the VMware Infrastructure Client needs a lot of time to load.

In my company we have 12 virtual machine administrators using the client to administrate there servers.

If they login they need to wait about 2-3 minutes until the gui of the client appears.

Selecting objects in the client is also quiet slow (delay of 5 - 20 seconds).

Remember: the performance from the esx cluster it self ist great no problems there it seams that only the client is sooooo slow.

Would be nice if someone has an idea what is wrong with my configuration Smiley Happy

System details:

ESX 3.5 Hosts build 82663 (HP DL380 G5)

each hosts has 20 GB RAM and 2 Intel Xeon CPU´s with each core 3 GHZ connected to an IBM DS8100

VC 2.5 build 84767 (running on a Windows 2003 R2 SP2 Standart Server using Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Standart Edition / HP DL360 G3)

1Intel Xeon CPU with 3 GHZ and 3 GB RAM

Client 2.5 build 64192

Frontends are nealry all Windows XP SP2

Thanks in advance.

Do all admins have the VI client installed locally? If yes... Do they then also have plugins installed (Converter, VMUM etc.)

If they do, try to remove them on one of the clients and see how it goes..

Hello Rubeck,

yes all admins use an local installed version of the VI client.

Instead of me no one uses plugins.

Any other clue to fix this "slow" acess?

When launching the client locally on the VC server with no plug-ins do you see the same result?
