Auto import HP SIM certificate

Hi all,

When we install the HPSIM 8.11 agents into our ESX 3.5 hosts we seem to be unable to have the certificate of our HP SIM server imported. We always need to go into the HP SIM server, add the ESX host and then follow a link to the SIM home page of that host, log in & import the certificate.

This should have been done automatically shouldn't it? Or should we include the certificate somewhere in our installation already?

These are the SMTP settings extracted from the snmp.conf file:

dlmod cmaX /usr/lib/libcmaX.so

rwcommunity <SNMP STRING1> 127.0.0.1

rocommunity public localhost

rwcommunity <SNMP STRING1> <HP SIM Server IP 1>

rwcommunity <SNMP STRING2> <HP SIM Server IP 2>

rocommunity public

trapcommunity public

trapsink <HP SIM Server IP 1> <SNMP STRING1>

syscontact EUR IT

syslocation EUR Region

If somebody has the answer it would be appreciated! Smiley Happy

Thanks,

J.

Hi,

As far as I know the certificates need to be installed manually:

logon to server and add the certificate [

also in order to be able to add the HP Systems Insight Manager Certificate in SMH, the port should be enabled in the firewall.

perhaps with the next release of agents the installation with include an automatic install of the cert
