hi
i need help.i have a physical machine connecting via rdp to a windows 2003 vm on esx 3.5
i need to hear audio from that machine
how can i do it?
Maybe this will be helpful? By Default audio is probably disabled in W2k3
>1. Go into the 'Services' section (under Admin tools, under Control Panel)
>2. Change the 'Windows Audio service' from 'Disabled' to 'Automatic' - and start it
>3. Go to the 'Terminal Services Configuration' section (under Admin tools, under Control Panel)
>4. Double click on 'RDP-TCP'
>5. Select the 'Client Settings' tab
>6. Clear the 'Audio Mapping' check box
This works on my Windows XP VM by default. Check the RDP settings in your Windows 2003 server. You may need to enable audio mapping on the server. Also check that the RDP clients is being told to bring audio local.

thank you for your quick response
i will check it tommorow at work
just wanted to mentioned that when i am logged via rdp the sound is on mute and i cant change it...
is this meen that the problem is windows - rdp related and not vm related?
It sounds more like an OS issue rather than a VM thing at this point.
