Attaching a Buffalo TeraStation to ESX

I recently purchase a Buffalo TeraStation NAS, but found out I can not attach it cause it is not NFS, Does anyone know of a way to attach this Buffallo Storage to the ESX server thru maybe a different way.

The TeraStation can be attached to the ESX Host as a SMB share, however you will not be able to utilise it for VMFS partitions. Alternatively if you are not bothered about your warranty on the Terastation you can do a google search for TeraStation and NFS for information on how to turn the Terastation into a NFS mount point.

see here for a starter for ten

Tom, I want to be able to do backups to it, I would love to run Test VMs, but I guess I can't cause I can't to VMFS, Correct?

VMFS is a no-no on a Terastation unless you Mod it as I mentioned in the earlier post, as a respository for Backups, it depends, if you are using VCB or a similar approch, you may be able to mount the terastation as a DFS share to your VCB proxy thereby allowing you to store the backup files
