AsyncIO timeout

I do receive the following error in the log /var/log/vmkernel

Mar 19 10:15:01SERVER vmkernel: 16:18:10:30.675 cpu3:1028)SCSI: 3731: AsyncIO timeout (5000); aborting cmd w/ sn 861196, handle 32320/0x7201b40

Anybody any idea?

I am getting the same error. Mine happen during storage controller code updates.

I would like to bump up the (5000) to something higher (I assume that means 5000ms). I am not able to find where to make a higher setting for AsyncIO.

I had the same error during the same thing (FLARE update to a CX3-20). It then caused many (possibly all) of our Linux VM's to mount there file systems read only.

We have noticed similar messages. However, it is our understand that these messages are due to the load on iSCSI. We have been using software initiators with no problems until recently when we added some heavy I/O apps to VM. We are currently looking into Qlogic HBA initiators and double checking the Cisco configs
