Alternative to vcbmounter

We are using vcbmounter to backup various servers. It has some limitations and was wondering if there is an alternative for doing snaps within VM,

For an alternative Hot Backup Solution you can try esXpress (http://www.esxpress.com). 100% full hot VM backups are Free. There are also licensed versions which provide additional features like Deltas. There is also a new Beta providing File Level Backups

Yes, you can snapshot the VM using vcbSnapshot or "vmware-cmd createsnapshot" and then export the VMDKs with vmkfstools. This gets around the irritation of using catalogue files and vcbRestore.
