Add RAM to my ESX 3.0.2

I just got new spares of RAM modules to be added on my ESX 3.0.2 sitting on HP BL20P G4.

If I add new memory from 8GB to 16GB on my ESX 3.0.2 hosts.. Do I need to configure/ adjust anything on the ESX config?

thanks

Not with 3.x. If you were to adjust the service console memory, then you would need to make sure the console swap partition is large enough, but unless you're adding software to the console you won't have to touch the memory for the service console. With 2.x you would have needed to increase the VM swap file, but with ESX 3.x the VM swap file is created for each VM when you power them on.

Thanks!!!

The only Software for my Service console is some EMC drivers and naviagent, andh HP SIM agents

do you suggest adding memory for Service console or default should be fine?

I will have 16GB for every ESX boxes.

thanks

If you run "top" in the service console and it has plenty of free memory then you don't need to change.
