Active/Active storage controller and ESX 3.5 U4

My SAN controllers are configured as active/active, so quick(?) question -

Can I not load balance my ESX 3.5 host HBA traffic (2 HBAs per host of course)? The Manage Paths dialog shows 'Round Robin' as 'Experimental' only which I'm obviously not going to use in production.

My guess is that I cannot have ESX host HBA non-experimental load balancing until we upgrade to ESX 4.0... just wanted to hear it here officially so I can tell my boss 'See? We HAVE to upgrade for that, you fool!' Smiley Wink

With 3.5 and active/active storage the right policy is fixed path.

The load balancing is experimental.

Or you have to upgrade to vSphere.

I'm pretty sure with U4 it became supported on 3.5. But either way, it IS supported on 4.0.
