AQLEN is 4096 - performance problem?

I'm doing some performance monitoring and have noticed on my three ESX 3.5 boxes that AQLEN is set to 4096.

I understand from documentation that it should be no higher than 64 - 128 tops. I didn't set this myself so I'm wondering if it is actually what the HBA needs or whether it is in fact a problem?

Performance isn't great at the moment - I'm running an AX150 on fibre and looking to upgrade. However I spotted this and thought it might be worth a look.

If it is too high, can anyone explain what problems it can cause? I can find plenty about having it too low but not much about it being too high!

Thanks

I think I've mixed up adapter queue and LUN queue.

My LUN queue is 32 and my adapter queue is 4096. I presume therefore that this is actually ok and not way off?

yes, this better Smiley Happy 32 is the default queue length.
