vc server cpu

My vc server 2.5 CPU goes to 100% every 30 mintues and I get an alert. This is a VM. Any thoughts?

Can I just dump this box and reload OS and create a new VC server? All the config is stored on the ESX box right?

If I created a new box and installed VC 2.5 and just added back my ESX servers I would still have all my data stores vswitches etc correct?

you may want to take a look at this white paper.

Also, is your DB running on the same VM as well? If not, all the information you are concerned with is in the DB. All you would need to do is rebuild and point to an existing DB.

well, you will probably have to move your DB to another server then to retain all the information. Otherwise you can start fresh.

Here's a good KB to follow
