update signature - update manager issue

I just installed VC2.5 and update manager plugin,

the installation went without any issue,

I than installed and enabled the update manager plugin via the VI and chose to download only ESX critical host updates.

but the "update signature" give an error "web site hosting the update signature and update package cannot be reached"

I looked on other posts and they didnt help, as I do not have proxy, no local FW, and I can reach any site from the IE from the VC server.

so what can it be?

what is the site that it can not reach? can I just write that URL in the IE in order to test it?

any idea?

I've had PLENTY of problems with Update Manager post-Update1, but I think your issue is due to VMware working on the web site. If you hit you'll see that it's undergoing maintenance.

fyi, everything worked after a day so the maintanance really caused that massage
