transferring install image to hard drive failure

When I'm installing ESX 3.0.1 to my Dell PE 1955 blade server via gui, after having formatted the partitions the installation fails when trying to copy the install image to the hdd. I'm wondering which partition it is trying to save to and why I'm getting this error. I've partitioned my disk as such:

swap: 544MB forced primary

/ : 10GB forced primary

/boot : 100MB forced primary

/var : 4GB

vmkcore : 102MB

VMFS3 : remaining ~ 53 GB

More over, I've reburned the iso to a new CD to ensure its not the disc and it hangs at the same place.

Exact Error:

"An error occurred transferring install image to your hard drive. You are probably out of disc space."

You haven't created a separate /tmp, can you try that? (It should work however since the / of 10 GB I assume)

This is my overview

part /boot --fstype ext3 --size 200

part / --fstype ext3 --size 5000 -

part /home --fstype ext3 --size 2000

part swap --size 1600

part /var --fstype ext3 --size 5000

part /tmp --fstype ext3 --size 2000

part /opt --fstype ext3 --size 2000

part None --fstype vmkcore --size 100

part None --fstype vmfs3 --size 10000

Actually, that did the trick for me. I literally used his partitioning and vioala, another novice is up...

Anyone else having this problem. i'm trying to install ESX v3.5 Update 4 using the settings provided by Vliegenmepper and I'm still having this problem. The drives I'm installing to have 68.3 GB of space on a HP Proliant DL380 G6.

Might be too late for the gentleman with the HP Proliant DL380 G6, but I just used the "automatic" partitioning option and then edited that to suit best practise and my install was away.

I was able to get this resolved by recreating the CD. Even though I could read the CD in another machine the server I was working with couldn't so I recreated a new CD.

Thanks for all of the replies.
