"Setup failed to generate SSL keys necessary to run ...

... the VMware Management Interface. Clik Ok to cancel this installation."

That's what i'm getting on attempt to install VMware Server on Windows XP (SP2) box. I have installeed VMware now and then (last time a month ago on a laptop), but such i see the first time. Any help?

(F-Secure Client Security is used as a virus protection; there is GPG on the box)

TIA

Shall I give up with VMware? Searches on the internet show that the problem regards specifically VMware, at least for the part of messages I could read. Since there's no responses, I cannot go any further, so it seems that I have just to let it drop, to change the host OS to Linux and to move on to either XEN or KVM (problems with Windows there, though)... I've tried already MS's latest "wonder", so about it I have nothing more to say 😕

Hello,

You need to move this discussion to the VMware Server forum. THis is for the VMware Infrastructure tools, I.e. ESX.

Best regards,

Edward

Thanks for advice. I just guessed (after some search in course of which i found that it was not exactly problem of Server alone) that it's common installation problem, although encountered not that often.

Since i do not know if i may to expect the moderators would move the topic, i'll copy it myself - hope it won't be breaking of the forum rules.

Thanks once more,

Uldis
