Does anybody experience with the following issue after
applying patches to ESX 3.5 hosts.
My setup VMotion was working ok but after applying patch I have
encountered the following issue.
Setup
I have three ESX hosts:
All the same setup …Virtual switch VMotion -
and with two physical adapters namely
vmic2 and vmic5. Vmic2 is intel and vmic5
is 3com. All on VLAN 40.
Problem.
If the setup on the active adapters is as follows
ESXHOST1 - active adapter vmic2, vmic5
ESXHOST2 - active adapter vmic5, vmic2
ESXHOST3 - active adapter vmic2, vmic5
You can do vmotion between ESXHOST1 and ESXHOST3 but not ESXHOST2.
If the setup on the active adapters is as follows
ESXHOST1 - active adapter vmic2, vmic5
ESXHOST2 - active adapter vmic2, vmic5
ESXHOST3 - active adapter vmic2, vmic5
You can do vmotion to all BUT what confusing is if unplug
the vmic2 the vmotion still work?
Any ideas what is this happening?
