openfiler and esx3

I cannot get openfiler to work and cannot get esx to see openfiler vmfs partitions. Any idea of how to setup openfiler correctly?

What version of ESX do you have? If it's 3.0.1 you need to patch first here is a link to the patch.

no this is the latest eval 3.0.2

in openfiler, i see two partitions there. is there anything i need to do right after install?

In Openfiler you should do two things:

1) create storage volume that will host the VM's

2) allow access to that partition from your network (by default no network access is allowed)

Did you do that part?

the first time after i installed openfiler, i log in a openfiler, password

Then i go to volumes

it shows VolGroup01" (69984 MB), then i go to create a volume and call it /home/test, give it 1gb, iscsi filesystem type

then the browser just sits there for hours and hours. nothign happening.

am i doing something wrong?
