lost ping packet on ESX3.0.2 and virtual server

Hello, I'have a problem on ESX 3.0.2 server: I use software for supervision and I lost ping packet.

The supervision software send ping every 5min and occasionally I havent response from the ESX host and from some of the virtual server running on the cluster of ESX

Esx run on 3 identical DELL poweredge 2900 with 2broadcom netextreme BCM5708 and 4intel 82571EB for the network, 2*QLA2340 SAN adapter

they are 2 vswitch: 1 for service console and vmotion, 1 for the virtual machine

I find : http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=1290&slice...

but I'havent IRQ conflict

the ESX and the virtual center dont log any information

the virtual machines was suse linux, windows server, novell

Hi

Welcome to the forum

Does the Broadcom nic have the latest firmware? if not try and update.

Do you loose even more Ping if you put load on the Nic.

Some old Broadcom NIC has TOE enabled or old firmware with some bug.

As suggest you before check for firmware update.

Se also with ifconfig if you have some dropped packets.
