lost datastores after upgrade 3.0.2 ---> 3.5

I've just upgraded two hosts in a farm from 3.0.1/2 to 3.5 and although the upgrade went fine I can no longer see my datastores. From the server a vdf does not show any datastores but Virtual Center for one host shows them but if you browse the datastore it doesn't find anything - but it doesn;t complain ! For the second host in VC it displays the datastores but also has the warning bar that no Datastores are configured...

Sounds all very messed up to me.

Anyone have any suggestions as to

a) how I can recover my datastores without losing the data they contain

b) what I may have done wrong that caused all this mess

I upgraded VC first then the two esx hosts.

All suggestions greatfully received

Gary

Hmmmm, I just done an fdisk on each of the LUNs and none of them show a partition so it looks as though all is lost.....???

If the actual partition still exists but is not shown as vmfs you "might" be able to tag it with the vmfs id 0xfb

Which fdisk still talks about as " unknown " anyway.

In Configuration/Security Profile, enable Software iscsi client

Just to close this off - turned out that someone else had been playing on another host in the Farm (this is a test farm) and he inadvertantly initialsed my SAN devices...!
