how to terminate iSCSI sessions ?

Hi,

Any idea how to terminate iSCSI sessions using VI-client ? What I found is removing targets from static or dynamic discovery list wont terminate the session and Lun which previously mapped, still accessible.

Does ESX server provides full iSCSI session management capabilities to user ?

Any thoughts on this would be helpful.

Thanks,

Tapesh.

I can't speak for SW iSCSI but with HW iSCSI you would remove the static targets on each HBA, but DON'T rescan or the removed targets are re-added. When all paths are gone the volume is not longer available to the ESX server. In addition, you could modify the target ACLs on the SAN to disallow access.
