file system corrupt

Hello,

I had the following error and I'm wondering if someone can help.

VMware ESX 3.5

A Virtual server Windows 2000 had a crash with the error:

The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x00000000 (0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000). Microsoft Windows 2000 . A dump was saved in: C:\WINNT\Minidump\Mini092608-01.dmp.

After the crash there was a checkdisk on D and errors were fixed: The file system structure on the disk is corrupt and

unusable. Please run the chkdsk utility on the volume 😧

I think this is a logical problem on NTFS structure and not on vmdk or physical harddisks.

Can someone confirm this ?

you should make a complete crash dump and analyze with windebug from microsoft. From there is more easier to trace back the issue you have. In VM, I will suggest you to have seperate virtual disk for each of the partition you run on windows. That way will be better manage and stable

When the error refrences the file structure on a volume it is almost always within the NTFS and not the vmdk or physical disks.
