difference between esx 3.0.1 and 3.0.2?

Afternoon all

Can anyone tell me the difference between VMWARE ESX server 3.0.1 and 3.0.2?

We have version 3.0.1 installed. We plan to test Checkpoint Connectra which runs on secure platform. Checkpoint say it is compatible with 3.0.2 but not 3.0.1

If the trial is successful we will implement Connectra on Checkpoint hardware but to test it we plan to run it on a VM - we have no spare hardware to test it on. Checkpoint are coming in on Thursday to set up a demo. Do any of you guys see any major problems with this? It would only be to test the product, and would not be for a live production environment. I cant imagine there is much of a difference?!

Many thanks in advance!

Richard

I would check out the release notes for 3.02.. , to see "what's new".

Maybe CheckPoint tested their product on 3.0.2 only... and for this reason they're not able to verify that it actualy works on 3.01.... Then again, if they say its not compatible with 3.0.1, there's gotta be some kind of reason for this which they are the only one to know about. So you should really pull the answer from CheckPoint directly, IMO.

Agree with Rubeck - for me it was support for SVC that pushed us towards 3.0.2. No real feature enhancements but I know we've done some work with Checkpoint firewall virtual appliances and there were some features that required 3.0.2 to work properly (can't give explicit examples) - speak to the vendor.

Cheers.
