Hi!
I have one question that was surely answerd somewhere here but I don't find the post 😕
I need to seperate the vmkernel- & console-Port of my ESX3.0.1-Servers. The console-Port will be in a management-lan and the vmkernel-Port will be in a seperated storage-lan. Between them there's a firewall.
Which ports, protocols and direction do I need to open on this?
Hopefully somebody can answer me this
Regards,
Philipp
This depends on your storage needs.
If you use iSCSI (with the software initiator) you have to at least open the iSCSI port.
With NFS you have to open portmap and the other NFS stuff.
With FC you don't need to open up anything.

Hi!
Thanks for the answer. - I'll try this.
I'm currently using only NFS on those ESX-Servers.
