WebAccess inaccessible and VI Client slow after DC deployment

Hello,

I just deployed my VI3 server to the datacenter yesterday and have been having some issues with WebAccess and the VI Client. WebAccess is inaccessible (never gets anywhere), and VI Client is really slow to connect. Once it does connect, it is fine, but the login screen freezes for 30-60 seconds before the little wheel shows up and it logs in.

At first, I thought it was DNS issues, like it was trying to resolve where I was connecting from, since I did have some bad DNS settings right when deploying, however those have been corrected and everything else is fine.

I have confirmed with lsof -i and netstat -tap that it is listening on the http/https ports, and it will show in netstat when I am trying to connect, it just doesn't seem to ever do anything.

One thing I did catch is that in /etc/vmware/hostd/config.xml, in the section it mentions some proxyDatabase settings with a port of 9080. Is that used at all? I believe really high ports are being blocked by the router, since my DRAC console redirection wasn't working with its default ports 9000/9001 until I lowered them. Could this be an issue with the WebAccess/VI Client as well?

Thanks,

Ken Robertson

Anyone ever experienced this before? Any suggestions on where to look?
