Way to clone VM with out using VMIC

Hi all,

Is there any CLI options to create a clone of a virtual machine without a help of any Client infrastructure. It will be helpfull if the clone is a linked clone. I have created a clone by copying the VMDK file and then I used VMIC. But, I am looking for some commands so that will be usefull when I wanted to create more clones.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Take a look at the cloning scripts here - http://engineering.ucsb.edu/~duonglt/vmware/.

Download tha attachement in the doc and run script in ESX. The program will wait for virtual machines to obtain MAC address. During that time power on your virtual images in the client. Once you power on all your Virtual machines the script will terminate else nothing will be not running.
