Do you have the latest VI client? Also, are you trying to connect over a VPN or are you on the local LAN?

Yes, I have the latest version. The client is 2.5

I'm trying to connect on a LAN.

I am sorry if I insult, but being in this business has taught me to try to rule out different factors. So, have you tried to connect the VI client from a different machine? Have you enabled ssh on the machine? If so, when you connect, does that connection seem slow?
