Vmotion from quad-core to dual-core and vice versa

Hi all,

Can the VMs be hot vmotioned from Intel Xeon CPU X5355 @ 2.66GHz (Quad core) to Intel Xeon CPU 5160 @ 3.00GHz (Dual core) and vice-versa?

Looks like you can VMotion between the two processors.

There is no issue with migrating between quad-core and dual-core processors. As you can see in the attached PDF from Dell the 5100 and the 5300 families of Intel processors are VMotion compatible for both 32 bit and 64 bit VMs.

I've got environments running exactly this setup with no issue.
