VLAN & Trunk

Guys... I have IBM blade connected to 3com switch 4400 (Layer 2). At VMWare ESX, i have 3 VLAN ID

VLAN 1 for internal Server

VLAN 5 for Service Console (via Client Infrastructure Client)

VLAN 6 for Public Server

I have set Port Group and VLAN ID. At 3Com (Switch), Port 4 and 5 is set trunking with command :

port link-type trunk

port trunk permit vlan 1 to 6

lacp enable

It's still can't work... like VLAN-ID/TAG from vmware is not work.... is there any problem??

Anyone can help me???

Thanks before...

Welcome to the Forums!

I assume that using a 3Com switch is similar to using a Cisco when it comes to VLANs. If it is, then VLAN 1 cannot be used in a port group. It is assumed by VMware that this is the native VLAN. Try changing VLAN 1 to something else.

It's seams impossible to change vlan 1. Because there are 4 server that has production and have same network segment at client (workstation).

I'm using SCM at Blade.

Have you tried removing the VLAN 1 tag from the Vswitch? Since that is the default VLAN all untagged packets should be on the VLAN 1 network.
