VI3 Support for AMD-V

First off sorry if this question has already been answered but i have been unable to find a concrete answer to my questions.

I have currently have three blade servers running ESX 3.0.1 with Opteron 2000 series processors. I just discovered that AMD-V was disabled by default on these systems. What i'm wondering is does ESX support Hardware Virtualization by AMD or does it only benefit if i want to run 64-bit OS. If it does do i need to reinstall ESX for it to see it or will just enabling it be enough.

The hardware layer virtualization in the AMD chips won't be incorporated into ESX for a while... probably 6-12 months the earliest....from what I can tell.
